Switzerland - Part 1 - Geneva

This is part one of a three part instalment of our travels through Switzerland last week. Switzerland had WAY too many cool things to contain in just one post, so I'll break it up into bite-sized bits of AWESOME!

The first part of the Swiss trilogy is the very stunning city by the sea, Geneva.

Enjoy.

Ode to Oxford

When you travel, you realise that there are two types of tours: one given by guides, the other by locals. One is formulated, strategic and measured, the other breathes a true life and history into the location. I think you know which one is preferred! Last weekend, we were lucky enough to have one of the latter from some friends in Oxford.

As an Australian, the ancient architecture of Oxford just amazes me. Despite being in 2011, you really have to check yourself when you roam the streets and parks throughout the city. There were a few times throughout our wanderings when I half expected Robin Hood to bust out of the bushes and start firing arrows at passers-by. I know it's blatantly obvious but I'm going to say it anyway...this place is old!

Because of Oxford's "ye olde' times" appearance, I decided to do it old-school and shoot in black and white for the day.

Enjoy.

Crouching Rabbit Hidden Dragon

Bright lights, crazy crowds, smoking woks and dancin' dragons, it all says Chinese New Year! This year celebrates the Year of the rascally Rabbit, and at China Town in Leicester Square, London - celebrating was exactly what they did last weekend.

Here are a few shot from within the chaos!

Enjoy.

Norway all the way

Last weekend Nat and I ventured to the very chilly Norway to visit a good friend of mine and to check out his stomping ground - Oslo!

At this time of year, the place is beautiful and absolutely covered in snow and ice. But unlike London, it functions as per usual with no fuss at all - CRAZY concept!

Something that we realised early into our travels, was that Norway is possibly one of the sportiest countries that we've ever visited. Where most might think that snow and ice means it's time to rug up inside...this is actually the time when Norwegians, both young and old, come out to play.

Whether your into skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, iceskating, ice hockey or even sparkstotting (sledding) Norway is where its at.

These next few shots are from in and around the cool city of Oslo.

Enjoy.
